11/18
It's Saturday night and I'm enjoying a bit of rugby. France vs. New Zealand. it's half time and the score is France 5 and New Zealand 14. I'm keeping up with the soccer or 'football' club- i now have a federation francaise de football license to play. This weekend has been good recovery from a hectic week. There is a band desinee (cartoon) convention this weekend in Blois. I picked up a copy of the latest Asterix- Le Ciel Lui Tombe sur la Tete (The sky falls on his head.) The above is a picture of Meredith, Rose (English), and Steve hanging out after the comic convention at a cafe.
I am turning over the idea of getting a moped- it would let me get around the loire valley and out to soccer practice.
In news: I am glad that the democratic party has regained a majority in the house. As many of us feel- I think Bush has led us into a terrible situation in Iraq. I think it is clear that we must leave the area and stop occupation. Here is a link to a blog that my dad made me aware of - Baghdad Burning- a blog written by a woman in baghdad.
I am looking forward to seeing my family at Christmas. They are coming to France for a little vacation over the holidays.
ok- my best to everyone out there.
have a good weekend and week,
Alan

Sounds lke things are going well for you there. Rich and I had dinner at Robert's on Saturday. This was a very belated birthday celebration. Unfortunately, my pie karma was bad that day and I had to buy one at Jewel (good grief). I hope my turkey day pies do better that that. Trish will be home on Wednesday, and we plan on going to the Millers for dinner.

Hey Al, Was in DC last weekend (before T'giving). We went to a tapas place in Bethesda with Pat & Steve and hung up a big painting I took down for them. Did a turkey here for the holiday. Brenner get togther in France sounds like a good Christmas. I think we have a place to stay in Florence lined up beginning early September next year.
Ciao, Mac
